Semi-Captive Private Equity Fund


A private equity fund which is a middle ground between a captive private equity fund and an independent private equity fund. This fund receives a substantial percentage of its capital from its parent company. However, it also looks out for independent capital from unrelated third parties. The management company of the fund may sometimes be wholly owned by the parent company. Furthermore, a semi-captive fund may target independent financial or industrial ventures.
