Hedge funds are pooled investment vehicles that apply various tactics and strategies to invest in muliple asset classes, To that end, their managers attempt to reduce the overall volatility and risk of the fund while doing their best to secure the pooled funds (capital) and produce positive returns irrespective of market reality.
