Promotional Prize


A type of prize (jaizah) that an Islamic financial institution (IFI) awards to its customers, including quasi-equity (QE) holders (e.g., URIA) and other investment accountholders, as a means by which it promotes its products or services amongst its existing customers/ investors (as a show of appreciation to their continued business) or attempts to attract more investors.

The prizes are awarded, at a given point in time in the future, on the basis of a draw involving all eligible accounts or on the condition that a certain target is achieved, or even through a combined form (a draw on all accounts that achieve a set target).
