NTA


An acronym for non-taggable asset; an asset that meets the criteria of fixed assets but cannot be physically tagged due to its sensitive features, size, use, location, etc. Examples include surgical instruments, probes used in X-Ray machines, books, manuscripts, lenses, microscopes, scoreboards, etc. Such assets could be harmed by the tag or restricted by the size of the item.

NTA may also stand for net tangible assets; total assets of an entity less intangible assets such as goodwill, all liabilities and the par value of preferred stock.
