The amount for which an asset could be sold as of a given date in an arm’s length transaction. Differently stated, it is the price of an asset under conditions of orderly sale or liquidation, but not under duress or abnormal conditions (e.g., the case of a forced sale, sale under duress, etc.)
The current selling price is a gross amount: subtraction of costs of selling results in a measure of value known as net realizable value (NRV).
This price a current exit price.
