Al-Kafil


In a contract of al-kafalah (or al-kifalah), it is the party who provides assurances as to the performance of an original party to a commutative contract or accepts to stand surety. In other words, al-kafil is the one who joins his liability to that of the principal (al-makful or al-makful anhu) in claims regarding debts, personal injury or material assets.

Al-kafil (in Arabic script: الكفيل) is also spelled “al-kafeel“.

Al-Kafil is an Arabic word for guarantor.
