Volume Participation


A cost-optimization strategy that is used by traders to reduce average costs of trading or a specific trade. This strategy allows traders to set the percentage of order execution (participation) during a given period of time to keep in sync with the printed volume. In other words, a trader can execute at a desired percentage of the volume over the trading window. The impact of the trade will depend on the volume target a trader specifies.
