Uptick

A transaction / trade that is effected at a price exceeding the price of the previous one. The uptick price is equal to an uptick (price increase) plus the previous price, and the price is said to be on an uptick.

In case the price has not moved, but the last recorded move was an uptick, a trade is said to be a zero-uptick.

A sell uptick order can be filled and executed only on an uptick or zero-uptick. For such orders, the trade price must always exceed the last recorded price.
