Death Spiral


A situation that describes a stock market experiencing downward pressures where investors rush on dumping securities and finding the nearest exit. Death spirals are self re-enforced by plunging prices, destabilizing faith in the market at large and creating a very bad market sentiment amongst wider circles of traders and investors.

Unless investors apply stop-loss mechanisms, death spirals may wipe out fortunes and bring the entire market to its knees.
