It stands for statement of additional information; an addendum to a prospectus of a mutual fund that furnishes prospective investors with useful information (disclosures) about the fund’s operations in addition to the minimum requirements set by a regulatory authority. The statement of additional information is an optional supplementary document- i.e., mutual funds have the option to release or not.
