Equity Run

A statement that is generated (by a broker, a firm, etc.) on a daily basis as a list of a customer’s equity-related activities and balances (e.g., positions, equity holdings, margin requirements, and prior day’s status, etc.) Equity run may also include point balances, cash balances, and value of marginable securities.

In another context, equity run (equity run rate) refers the number of shares of a company’s common stock underlying equity-based awards granted added to the number of shares of its common stock underlying equity-based awards assumed upon an acquisition (if any), divided by the weighted average number of shares of its common stock outstanding for a given year. In this sense,

Equity run rate = equity run/ weighted average no. of common shares for a year
