Newsflow Algorithm

A trading algorithm (algo) that uses news feeds in order to mine the text for trading opportunities and threats. To that end, it combines search engines capabilities with text analytics. For algorithmic trading, news flow help traders “listen” for key events or recognize market reactions thereto. The newsflow algorithm is based on technically sophisticated capabilities to integrate the news and market sentiment with quantitative models, including technical and fractal analysis to account for low probability events associated with a great impact. The algorithm starts with the statistical and mathematical details and then inspects and probes trends, phases and turning points, and then moves back into the text to detect signals that could be used to predict such events.
