Actuals


The physical or cash commodity as differentiated from a futures contract in which it is used as an underlying. Differently stated, actuals encompass all transactions in a commodity, whether for immediate or deferred delivery, other than futures contracts. A seller of actuals need not necessarily have the commodity in his physical possession.

The opposite of actuals is notionals.

Actuals are also known as spot commodity or cash commodity.
