A user-defined, centralized and standardized key representing a chartstring or set of chartstrings that provide an entity with a simple and hassle-free means to present and manage its accounting data by transaction type.

Tags are mainly designed to non-financial users, without the need for product-specific speed charts, speed types and, accordingly, accounting distribution setup. A tag provides a means to minimize manual data entry of the entire chartstring. An accounting tag can be selected to automatically populate a given chartstring.

The main types of tags are single line tags and multiple line tags.
