Indexation


The process or methodology of restating amounts in an entity’s statement of financial position that have not already been updated using the measuring unit current at the end of the reporting period. Restatement is carried out by applying a general price index.

For example, assets and liabilities whose values are contractually pegged to changes in prices, such as index linked bonds and loans, are restated as per the indexed values.
