Non-Block Volume-Weighted Average Price


A form of volume-weighted average price that excludes upstairs or block trades. Consequently, it is very important that a trader sets his own threshold for a block. Small traders who cannot access upstairs liquidity usually find exclusion of large-block trades worthwhile.

In practice, traders do exclude trades of 10,000 or more shares as a proxy for upstairs trades.
