Non-Cyclical Stock


A corporate stock which is relatively insensitive to the business cycle, i.e., it is immune to economic upturns and downturns. A non-cyclical stock is issued by a company whose earnings are largely unaffected by economic trends. This stock tends to remain stable during periods of economic growth and decline. Examples of non-cyclical industries and sectors include non-durable goods such as cleaning, office supplies, healthcare, food, etc.
