Consumer Whole Loan Repo

A type of whole loan repo in which the collateral is a consumer debt such as credit card and automobile receivables. As the collateral of a whole loan repo has typically a lower quality, this repo trades at higher interest rates than conventional repo. The repo lender has consumer debt as collateral over the term of the whole loan.

The risk of collectibility is a major factor determining the risk profile of such a transaction, and in turn the underlying interest rate.
