SOR


It stands for smart order router; a coding mechanism that slices a trading order according to the rules set out by an algo (algorithm) and then selects the proper destination(s) for execution. This mechanism often involves routing child orders to multiple venues based on many factors including transaction costs, spread, latency, order protection, and best execution requirements.
