An audible signal like that of a bell or simply a buzzer sound that announces the end of the regular trading day on an major exchange. For example, in the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the signal is a bell, while in other exchanges it can be a sound of an alert system or something similar. Traditionally, listed companies delay some news releases and earning announcements until after the closing bell.
