WI Option


An option whose underlying is the next treasury bond or note to be issued, bearing a particular maturity. In other words, this option is made conditionally, not officially, because the underlying has been authorized, but it still needs to be issued on a future date.

“When issued” (WI) is actually short for “when, as, and if issued”.
