Swap Rate Lock


An agreement that in advance sets the absolute swap rate level for a swap that starts on a future date. In other words, the buyer and seller agree today to set the swap rate for a swap that will be entered into in the future. This may help both parties to hedge future interest rate risk associated with interest payments.
