Pack

A futures-trading strategy which involves buying four consecutive delivery-month futures contracts in the same delivery year. Each of these contracts must have the same volume in each delivery month. As well, the delivery months must be uninterruptedly consecutive. Five packs are available: white pack (first year), red pack (second year), green pack (third year), blue pack (fourth year), gold pack (fifth year).

With a pack, an investor can take a position in one trade. More specifically, an investor can buy (or sell) four consecutive quarterly futures delivery months within the same color banding and with equal-volume legs.

For example, a red pack = red Mar + red Jun + red Sep + red Dec contract delivery months.
