A handle (root price or big figure quote) is the whole dollar portion of a price or a quotation. More specifically, it is a truncated portion of the price/quote, excluding the last two decimal places of the quote.

An example is a quote of “$30.20- $30.25, 50,000 up” which would have a handle of $30.
