A type of sukuk in which the underlying is in the form of equity. Examples of equity-type sukuk include musharakah sukuk, mudarabah sukuk, and wakalah sukuk. These sukuk could be on balance sheet (on-balance sheet sukuk) as in the case of the three types (musharakah sukuk, mudarabah sukuk, and wakalah sukuk) or off balance sheet (off-balance sheet sukuk) as in the case of wakalah sukuk.
