Term Income Deferred Equity Securities


A structured convertible (a convertible preferred security)/ a mandatory convertible security) that are convertible into the common stock of an issuer.

The issuer could be the same issuer of the securities or another registered entity. In the latter case, the securities (term income deferred equity securities, or TIDES for short) are not considered convertible preferred security and are typically classified as long-term debt.
