Marathon Bond


A drachma- denominated bond that was issued by a non-resident (non-Greek entity) in the Greek domestic market. A marathon bond was typically by sold by non-domiciled issuers in the Greek market in order to raise funds denominated in drachma. The first marathon bond issue was introduced by the European Investment Bank in February 1994.
