Bear Raid


A concerted effort by traders to drive down the price of a stock by selling short a large amount of shares. This manipulative practice was commonly used by speculators in the early 1990s, who often coupled it with spreading negative rumors and misleading news about a respective company. This aimed to attract other investors, alluring them to dump their holdings of this share, so that the price would be driven down to a bargain level.
