Scalp

A trading method that is used to benefit from small percentage moves. Traders can accumulate big profits by making lots of small-profit trades, typically capturing a relatively small profit during the course of the trading day. Scalp is a very short-term strategy that is implemented over short periods of time (usually minutes rather than hours) and uses positions opened and closed out in the same trading session.

Traders who follow such a strategy (known as scalpers) devote all their time to observing charts and placing orders based around short-term trends, spotted by using technical analysis techniques.
