Stock Futures


A futures contract whose underlying is an individual stock of a public company or a particular stock index. It allows the holder to sell or buy a specified quantity of underlying equity share at a future date for a price determined today. Like other types of futures, a stock futures has standardized specifications such as quantity, expiration date, unit of price quotation, tick size, and method of settlement.
