Property Derivative


A derivative which has a commercial property as underlying. Most often, this derivative is in the form of a swap where one party pays the return on an index if the reading is positive. In consideration, the other party pays a floating rate such as LIBOR.

Property derivatives are also known as real estate derivatives.
