Spot Market


A marketplace where assets (such as financial instruments, commodities, securities, contracts, currencies, etc.) are traded against immediate payment and delivery. It contrasts with a futures market or forward market, where delivery is contracted to take place at a later date in the future, a spot market involves trading at the current market terms and for immediate settlement and delivery.

Trading in the sport market is referred to as a spot trading.

This market is also known as a cash market.
