Musaqi


The irrigation worker (مساقي) in a musaqa contract/ musaqat contract (tree irrigation contract) who supplies water to trees (specifically fruit-bearing trees) to help grow them, by whatever means (by manual labor, by means of channels, etc). In return for his efforts, saqi receives a portion (predetermined share) of the trees’ produce/ yield (ghalla) as stipulated in the contract.

Musaqi is also known as saqi (ساقي).
