Ala al-Shuyu


Arabic (على الشيوع) for the state of an asset (particularly, a land) being jointly owned/ possessed by a number of persons, who all have equal rights to the subject matter. Shuyu’ indicates the identical entitlement associated with of the portion of each and every co-owner (such as partners).

Shuyu’ connotes joint and common entitlement to an undivided portion in the subject-matter property that is said to be owned ala al-shuyu (i.e., in common).
