A theory that assumes the existence of a strong correlation between the price of bitcoin and the internet search for (and hype about) the term “bitcoin” and other related terms, including bitcoin price, over different search engines and specialized portals.
The term “Satoshi cycle” was coined by Christopher Burniske, a well-known authority on bitcoin, after the name of the assumed inventor of bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto.
Burniske theorized that when bitcoin price goes up, it also drives the interest in the digital coin, which in turn affects market sentiment, sending its price up – in “a virtuous Satoshi cycle.”
