Hard Stop

A live good ’till cancelled stop order. It is an actual stop order that instructs a broker to sell a security should its price reached a specific level. Hard stops are irrevocable- i.e., if the security in question reaches a hard stop, the order is executed automatically and it is impossible to reconsider the trade or to give it another thought.

Hard stop is the opposite of soft stop.
