Mawquf

Arabic (موقوف) for waqf assets/ properties. In other words, mawqoof constitutes assets/ properties dedicated by the waqf donor/ waqf founder (waqif) as endowment (waqf) according to specific stipulations. Mawquf is held under the administration of a trustee known as nazher al-waqf (mutawalli al-waqf) who will be in charge of it for the benefit of designated waqf beneficiaries.

However, the term mawquf is often used interchangeably with waqf (i.e., waqf also denotes the very meaning of waqf assets/ properties).

Mawquf is also spelled “mawqoof“.
