A variation on a knock-out option (KO option) which is very deep in-the-money when it knocks out. A knock-out option is set to expire worthless if the underlying asset reaches a specified price level.

A live-out option has the difference between its current underlying price and strike price very much in the money, but since its the underlying price has reached the knock-out barrier, the option knocks out and expires worthless.
