Arabic (عقود التمليك) for contracts (uqud– plural of aqd) that entail acquisition (or transfer) of ownership (mulkiyyah). This involves properties and rights (huquq) to benefit (from properties). The purpose of these contracts is to transfer ownership from one party (person) to another.
Uqud al-tamlik divide into three sub-categories, literally: uqud al-muawadhat (commutative contracts), uqud al-tabarruat (noncommutative contracts), and noncommutative-cum-commutative contracts (uqud tabarru ibtidaan, muawadhah intihaan– عقود تبرع ابتداءً معاوضة انتهاءً)
