Top-Flight Asset


An asset that ranks top amongst other assets held by a financial institution in terms of quality and convertibility to cash. This may also include its ability to generate modest to good cash flows (income). Examples include marketable securities, specific commodities (such as gold), quality equity holdings, etc. For collateralized assets to be top-flight, well credit standing/ quality is a key feature.
