A measure of a bank’s equity that is considered at or within standard level(s) as per specific norms (such as Basel III). Being at or within standard level(s) is usually meant to meet specific purposes including capital adequacy, risk management considerations, capital costing, etc.

Normative levels of equity are used as a basis for a set of relevant calculations such as normative capital cost, return on normative equity (RONE), etc.
