Angel Investing


Investment in a venture enterprise that is financed by capital contributions from independent, wealthy investors. Those investors provide capital in the form of debt or equity from their own funds to a start-up business owned and managed by someone else (who is neither a family member nor a friend). Angel investing is naturally informal, though not every informal investing is described as angel investing (informal investing includes two distinct types of investors: (1) angels and (2) family members and friends).
