Order Latency


The amount of time it takes an order to be executed. It is the time delay between the time an order is placed and its time of execution. In electronic markets (digital markets) and financial market networks, it refers to the order execution latency that is calculated in absolute terms. It is the time interval it takes an order or trade to be processed or executed.

Latency is a time delay, and hence the lower it takes for processing or execution the better (see, low latency).
