Initial Public Offering Window

The period of time that lapses between an announcement of an initial public offering (IPO) and the moment the shares offered on a stock market start trading. During IPO windows, initial public offerings are popular with investors and available to privately held companies aiming to become public through a public offering. The IPO window is open during periods of popularity. Otherwise, it will close.

Grey market trading is commonplace in the IPO window.
