A quote that is run or made available to market participants during intra-day hours (defining a market session or market hours: 9:30-16:00), that is, from opening in the morning to closure in the afternoon or beyond. Intra-day quotes are those available for intra-day trading: for buying and selling securities on a given day (same day) before the market closes.
However, markets do disseminate real–time quotation updates, earlier (07:30) and later to closure time (e.g., 18:35) to include the pre– and post– market hours. Pre- and post-market hours may still be considered within intra-day trading hours.
