Dark Platform


An electronic trading venue/ platform that is not required to provide to the public information like trade sizes prior to trade execution. By nature, a platform consists of the software that enables investors and traders to place orders and track accounts through brokers and other intermediaries. Dark platforms facilitate the execution of large orders with minimal price impact (typically, large orders cause market prices to move either way, depending on the nature of an order: sell orders/ buy orders).
