A relationship between a bank and its customer that is usually evidenced by a deposit against which withdrawals can be made by the customer as arranged. Banks and financial institutions offer various types of accounts, including demand deposit, time deposit, joint account, custodial account, trustee account, corporate account, regular account, among others. An account officer usually handles administrative responsibility for a given account or set of accounts.
