Toxic Pool


A market trading platform (pool) in which the quality of execution (toxicity) in a venue tends to be worse. This pool regularly features slightly worse prices, i.e., order fills with prices tending to be a bit worse than other venues. This is typically done by hosting aggressive traders or traders with rapid execution preferences in a bid to take advantage of investors with a more passive approach.
