Investment Waqf


A form of waqf (Islamic endowment) whose assets are intended for investment (i.e., income/ ghallah generation). The income generated from managing the waqf assets will be used in constructing and reconstructing waqf properties. It may also be used for other purposes as defined by al-waqif (the waqf creator/ donor) in the waqf deed.

Investment waqf is also known as waqf istithmari.
